Climate Action North hosted its first Moths & Muffins Breakfast networking session, part of a Businesses 4 Biodiversity (B4B) series of events.

Connected to the Pollinator Parks programme, Moths and Muffins offers networking alongside the opportunity to meet moths that have been collected in traps set the night before by specialists Cain and Heather from Wild Intrigue.

The first event was held on Friday 23 July 2021 at the newly refurbished event space at the North East BIC in Sunderland.

Over 20 species of moths were collected, recorded, and safely released as part of Climate Action North’s citizen science role.

Climate Action North’s Managing Director, Sharon Lashley, said: “The event was fantastic and everyone who attended commented on how much they enjoyed it, and ventured out of their comfort zone to meet and hold these incredible pollinators.

“The Moths and Muffin networking events are very important for us at Climate Action North as they form an integral part of our Pollinator Parks programme to link businesses with biodiversity, raise awareness of the many different types of pollinators, and inspire more people to take climate and biodiversity action for nature”
