We need climate action on all fronts, everywhere all at once. Failure is not an option for Climate Action North, the social enterprise that helps businesses and communities take the necessary changes to halt the climate crisis.

Climate Action North has been awarded a £15,000 grant to expand its rewilding support for landowners, project managers, and local groups across the North of England.

For years, nature hasn’t been seen as a partner but rather as something to defeat and destroy. The results are disastrous. Over half of our species are in decline, 15 percent are threatened with extinction, and all top predators have been hunted to extinction, as cited by Rewilding Britain.

The annual 30 Days Wild challenge celebrates the rich nature on our doorstep by spending a month doing something ‘wild’ every day and appreciating the natural world.

A meadow of over 700 wildflowers has been created at the Darlington Denes play area to increase biodiversity, supply a haven for insects and birds, and give people a place to enjoy nature.

Our Climate Action North vision is focused on “The time for talking is over, today we need to act” and we’re asking for as many people as possible to join us in mobilising climate action.

.Over 100 tree saplings will be planted at Dalton Park Outlet Shopping Centre as part of an ongoing partnership with not-for-profit company Climate Action North.

The role bees, and other pollinators, play in the food chain is so important that, in the UK alone, their services are worth around £691 million a year in terms of the value of the crops they pollinate. It would cost the UK at least £1.8 billion a year to employ people to do the work of these pollinators.

Climate Action North received £6,400 from the Society’s 5% Pledge earlier this year to create a ‘Pollinator Parks®’ site in Darlington, where bees and other vital pollinators will benefit.
