Companies of all types and sizes are being called upon to tackle their emissions and commit to net zero.

Taking action to become net zero will bring many benefits to a small business including improving resilience and competitiveness, while reducing costs and encouraging investment and attracting new customers.

Here are three ways Climate Action North can get you on the road to net zero.

Online toolkit

The online Business Action Toolkit will help you take meaningful climate action to get on the road to net zero. It will take you through a series of questions looking at your company’s business risk and continuity; people and resources; green infrastructure and spaces; travel and carbon foot printing; climate emergency planning; quality and environmental management systems; and your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Once you’ve completed these questions you will get a tailored report to put in place a practical action plan to reach net zero.

Consultancy support

No matter where you are on your net zero journey, we can help you improve and shape the direction you want to take and achieve your goals within your set timeline.

We will work with you to determine your current situation, establish a high-level understanding of the actions your business needs to take, and set clear targets to reach net zero.

We recently helped The North East BIC in Sunderland drive forward decarbonisation plans across its 14-acre site, through a review of energy efficiency, heating systems, renewable energy generation, and storage options.

Paul McEldon OBE, Chief Executive at the North East BIC, said: “When we started our Net Zero journey we quickly realised the BIC needed strategic support to realise our ambitions of becoming a truly green enterprise.

“We commissioned Climate Action North to tap into their expertise and knowledge and, as a result, we were able to move forward confidently with our Carbon Reduction Plan, which we have recently published.”
