Protect what you love from climate change before it’s too late. Are you in?
The Count Us In mission over the next decade is to inspire one billion people to significantly reduce their carbon pollution while challenging leaders to act boldly to deliver global systems change.
The Round Britain Climate Challenge will see UN Ambassador for the Convention on Migratory Species, Sacha Dench, aiming to inspire at least 140,001 people to take personal climate action before July 17 by flying around Britain in an electricity powered paramotor as part of the Count Us In challenge.
All actions taken, such as cutting down on food waste, or walking and cycling more, will count towards breaking the world record attempt for the most amount of people pledging to take climate action in one month. If successful, every participant will get a badge recognising their contribution to setting a world record.
Sacha is also aiming to raise awareness about the effects of climate change while setting a new world record for circumnavigating mainland Britain in a paramotor.
The expedition is supported by Joanna Lumley, who will be following Sacha and meeting up with her at various places around the country over its duration.
As Sacha circumnavigates the county, she will be landing frequently to meet innovators and entrepreneurs, local heroes, communities, schools, farmers, and individuals who are addressing the effects of climate change in their areas to gather their stories. A compilation will be presented at COP26 in Glasgow in November.

“Count Us In makes it so easy for everyone to make a positive difference by setting out the highest impact steps an individual can take to reduce their carbon emissions and taking practical steps to protect what they love from climate change before it is too late. Here at Climate Action North our mantra is “The time for talking is over, today we need to act”, we are certainly signed up for this campaign and urge everyone to get involved.”
