Believe Housing is the latest organisation to join the prestigious list of Climate Action North corporate sponsors and is committing to making a difference starting this Earth Day.

As one of the North East’s largest housing associations, Believe Housing is focussed in putting customers and colleagues at the heart of everything they do and making them part of the journey in providing better housing services, homes, and communities.

The environment and how we interact with it is also extremely important to Believe Housing. Andrea Baxter, Environmental Manager, said: “Sustainability, social value, and impact is important to Believe Housing and we are honoured to be working with Climate Action North and launching our corporate sponsorship programme on Earth Day 22 April.

“We are committed to doing the right thing for our colleagues, customers, for our business and for the planet, that’s why we’ve signed up to be part of Climate Action North’s extensive programme of climate action, we are looking forward to getting involved in the activities over the next 12 months and making a meaningful difference and tackling climate change.”

Climate Action North’s portfolio of work is predominantly funded by corporate sponsorships from the business community, which is then reinvested into climate action projects across the North of England.

Climate Action North’s CEO, Sharon Lashley, said: “As a business heavily focussed in supporting local communities, Believe Housing’s dedication to making a better planet for all and its social value principles fully align with our mission to make a positive social impact. We are thrilled to have them on board with us.

“We are keen to see as many businesses as possible taking action with us to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises. The sponsorship from Believe Housing will enable us to deliver real action on the ground as well as providing quality opportunities for Believe volunteers to take part in activities we have planned.”

Climate Action North operates across the North of England and has a raft of programmes including rewilding areas through Pollinator Parks®, community education programmes such as Global Wilders®, North East Action for Rivers focussing on cleaning up rivers in the region, litter picking and beach cleans, and the newest programme shortly to be launched Climate Resilient Communities.

The partnership will launch on Earth Day, 22 April.
